Just look at all these blueberries! We are keeping the price low, just $1.25 a pound upick to sell as many as possible.

The Kotata blackberries are extra heavy also and only $1.00 upick. Kotatas are sisters to the Marion blackberry. The flavor is stronger than the Marion and they keep much better in your refrigerator.

STRAWBERRIES.......SOON!

IMAGE.JPG

When will strawberry season begin? Well, soon! Our store will open with already picked Seascape strawberries on 17 May. Our u-pick HOOD strawberry patch will open late May. HOODS, HOODS, HOODS! In case you didn’t know, Hood strawberries are the most delicious things on earth.

Please keep checking back for updates on the start of u-pick season. We will let you know as soon as we can set a definite date. We look forward to seeing you (and eating strawberries!).

What are quince?

IMAGE.JPG

Here is an unusual fruit: quince is shaped like a pear, has fuzzy skin like a peach, and has yellow flesh that turns pink when cooked.

Quince is quite hard when raw so is usually eaten cooked. The flavor is tart like a lemon but distinctively unique.

IMAGE.JPG

We use this fruit many different ways. When frying potatoes we add a little quince for flavor and tang. We cook roast pork with quince and onions. We also cook it with water, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Because quince is very high in pectin, this cooks to a marmalade that we use for quince tart or on top of cheese cake.

IMAGE.JPG

quince are available u-pick for $.75 a pound or at our store for $1.25.

Strawberries are back!

Yes it’s true! We have an abundance of seascape strawberries, which is an ever bearing variety. They are bigger then hoods and almost just as sweet. The best part about them is they continue bearing until mid October! They are available for  u-pick and already picked in our store. They are $1.25 a lb u-pick and  $32 a crate already picked.

The’re just waiting to be picked!
